Reaxys: new chemical database
New to DIT Library's database collection Reaxys is a chemical database solution which integrates searches for reaction and substance data with synthesis planning and chemical sourcing.
Reaxys offers excerpted compounds and related factual properties, reaction and synthesis information, as well as bibliographic data – in inorganic, organometallic and organic chemistry research. Content is drawn from selected journals and patents so that only experimentally validated data are included in Reaxys. Small molecules (organic, inorganic and organometallic compounds) are only excerpted if they have:
- A chemical structure;
- An experimental fact (property, preparation, reaction);
- A credible citation.
Access the database here or via DIT Library's database listings

Constants data resources
A few queries lately re physical constants sources. As well as Kaye and Laby Online at the NPL try the NIST Reference on Contants, Unit and Uncertainty and CODATA (Committe for Data for Science and Technology) as well as the Physical Measurement Laboratory (PML). The latest values and adjustments of the constants are also posted there as well as a searchable bibliography.

Kaye & Laby Online: Tables of Physics & Chemical Constants

This online version of Kaye & Laby Tables of Physics & Chemical Constants includes the entire contents of the 16th edition, as well as a new section 3.9.5 on pH values, and is full of tables of data, formulae, graphs and charts. This information spans topics from fundamental constants to fibre optics, superconductivity to Raman spectroscopy and many many others. The contents are periodically updated to reflect advances and developments in the fields of physics and chemistry. This free resource is hosted by the National Physical Laboratory at http://www.kayelaby.npl.co.uk/

Fundamental Physical Constants d-base

The Fundamental Physical Constants database gives values of the basic constants and conversion factors of physics & chemistry as published by CODATA (Committee on Data for Science & Technology) and the NIST in 2002.
The site also includes conversion factors for energy equivalents recommended by CODATA for international use and an introduction to the constants for non-experts.
