Effective Science Communications: New eBook and webinar Tuesday 16th June

There are many challenges facing scientists today. On top of the traditional pressures of career development, securing research funding, finding that next big breakthrough and publishing in leading journals, being a scientist in the 21st century demands effective communication and navigating through a range of different media channels.  IOP Publishing will be running a free webinar with the author of Effective Science Communications (Second Edition): A practical guide to surviving as a scientist, Dr Sam Illingworth, on Tuesday 16 June. Webinar details Tuesday 16 June 3.00 p.m. BST/10.00 a.m. EDT The webinar will explore some of the key topics covered in the book, including: publishing work in academic journals applying for funding improving presentation skills outreach and public engagement engaging with the mass media establishing an online presence science and policy The webinar will last around 45 minutes and will include a live Q&A session with the author.
