RSC resources and referencing for student chemistry projects and dissertations

Working on an undergraduate chemistry dissertation or final year project over the student break? Here are some Royal Society of Chemistry (rsc.org) resources to help:

Need to access DIT Library e-resources for assignments or revision while you are away from Dublin over the student Easter break?

Try these tips:

  • Access e-books, e-journals, e-dissertations and databases remotely by logging in with your DIT password or Library PIN; see Off Campus Access
  • Use the Science and Engineering Subject Guides for more in-depth help and specific assignments resource links.
  • The Library will close at 5pm on Thursday 29 March and will be closed from Friday 30 March to Monday 02 April inclusive for the Easter weekend. However usual semester opening hours apply at all other times over the student break.

Endnote and Web of Science training reminder: Tuesday 20th March: all welcome

Using Web of Science for an undergrad assignment or postgrad literature review? Need help with Endnote?  DIT Library invites you to a Training Seminar from Clarivate Analytics:



Endnote Online: EndNote is reference management software with features to
  • Keep all your references and reference-related materials in a searchable personal library.
  • Synchronize your references between up to three of your personal computers, an online library, and your iPad, through EndNote sync. (You must be the owner and user of all three computers.)
  • Share your references with collaborators through EndNote sync.
  • Use your references in word-processing documents to create formatted citations and bibliographies or independent reference lists.
Web of Science: consists of several databases designed to support scientific and scholarly research. Web of Science Core Collection is our premier resource on the platform and includes over 20,000 peer-reviewed, high-quality scholarly journals published worldwide (including Open Access journals

New eBooks : IEEE and Science Direct ebook collections (2015-2017)

Two new eBook collections have recently been added to the library collection. With a focus on computing and communications engineering they're both available via the DIT Library website.

At the DIT Library website click on the eBooks link. From the grid select IEEE or Science Direct to view and download the title chapters you require.

The IEEE collection contains newer items published in 2016 and 2017 and Science Direct collection titles are from 2016-2017. Please note older ebook material is not contained in this subscription.
