SciFinder (CAS) database access now available
SciFinder provides access to the Chemical Abstracts Services (CAS) collection of indexed literature back to 1907. It provides useful information that have a chemical structure at their core. In addition to the references andabstracts found in Chemical Abstracts (1907-Present), SciFinder's comprehensive content includes information on substances, patents, experimental and predicted properties, and spectra.
To get started click on the Databases link on the DIT Library website. Scroll down to the Scifinder section and follow the instructions listed:

Laptop loans for student use in or outside the Library
Need a laptop for group study or for project prep? Kevin St Library offers laptops for loan to all Kevin St students. Laptops can either be used for another or two just while studying in Kevin St Library or alternatively for a full semester loan. For more details contact the library kst.library@dit.ie or just #askus at the library information desk.
Please bring your DIT student card with you to the library desk for all laptop transactions.

Group study rooms available for students to reserve in the library
Need a space to work on a group project or help one another with module assignments?
Kevin St Library offers three group study spaces to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Each space is equipped with a whiteboard and datascreen.
Stationery packs with whiteboard markers, erasers and hdmi cables are available to borrow from the library information desk for use in the study spaces. Laptops can also be borrowed for use in the group study spaces.
Just bring your student card to the information desk to make a booking. Or contact us at kst.library.dit.ie or 01-402-4894
Please note there is a maximum of two hours per reservation and five students per space.
